🌘 The Sacred Science of Letting Go

The first time I heard the Sanskrit word Vairāgya (वैराग्य), it changed everything. It means “non-attachment,” but not in the cold, detached sense the English word implies. It’s not about not caring.

That’s the essence of letting go — the sacred science of release.

In yoga, Vairāgya walks hand-in-hand with Abhyāsa — steady practice. Together, they form the foundation of transformation. In witchcraft, we practice the same duality through ritual: intention (Abhyāsa) and release (Vairāgya). Cast the spell, do the work, then let the energy go.

The hardest part of grief isn’t the loss itself. It’s the surrender.

We want to hold on — to the people, the dreams, the versions of ourselves that gave us comfort. But the sacred cycle of life and death asks something braver: to love enough to let go.

The art of release is the bridge between grief and renewal. When we exhale what’s gone, we create space for what’s next.

💫 To release is not to forget — it’s to trust the flow of becoming.
