Not the spooky kind — though they have their own sacred season — but the quieter kind. The ghosts of versions of me that no longer exist. The ghosts of people I loved and lost. The ghosts of choices I didn’t make and paths I never walked.

They linger in the corners of my mind, in old journals and photos, in the scent of sandalwood that reminds me of my grandmother’s altar. They don’t haunt me so much as accompany me — reminders of the lives that shaped this one.

Grief, I’ve learned, is not about erasing those ghosts. It’s about learning to live with them — to make peace with their presence.

In yoga, we call this Anitya, the awareness of impermanence. Everything changes. Every breath, every cell, every sunrise is a moment of death and rebirth. In witchcraft, we call it the Wheel of the Year — the turning of seasons that mirrors our own transformations.

When we resist grief, we resist that cycle. But when we welcome it — when we invite our ghosts to sit beside us instead of banishing them — we reclaim our wholeness.

💫 May we learn to live with our ghosts, not as intruders, but as teachers of love.
